Slider Anjelica Seldon selected in NPF seniors draft. (2/18/2008)
Denver, CO --- Sliders pitcher Anjelica Seldon was drafted 4th overall (first round) in the National Pro Fastpitch Seniors Draft. Other Sliders included in the draft were Cambria Miranda selected in the 4th round by the Washington Glory and former Slider Katie Burkhart selected as the 1st overall pick in the draft by the Philadelphia Force.


Sliders 2008 schedule posted. (2/7/2008)
Irvine, CA --- The Sliders tentaive 2008 season schedule has been posted which include another trip to the women's major ASA National Championships in New York. The complete season schedule will be finalized by June 1, 2008.


Five Sliders receive pre-season All-American honors. (2/6/2008)
Bristol, CN --- The Sliders placed five current and former players on Easton's preseason all-american team. Players included were Cambria Miranda (Oregon State), Kristia Colburn (UCLA) and former Sliders Allessandra Giampaolo (Michigan) and Katie Burkhart (ASU) and Katie Cochran (ASU).


Sliders add USA National Team Player Langenfeld to 2008 roster. (1/4/2008)
Los Angeles, CA --- The Sliders added Junior USA softball team player and UCLA pitcher/1st baseman Megan Langenfeld to their 2008 team roster.

In her freshman season at UCLA, Langenfeld had a pitching record of 14-3 with a team lowest 1.45 ERA. She pitched 7 shutouts and struck out 93 to allowing only 20 base on balls. As a batter, she hit .315 with 12 doubles, 1 triple, 7 homeruns and and 41 RBIs. She is a force to be wreckoned with in the circle and at the plate. She will add pitching strength and depth to the Sliders roster and a solid bat for the middle of the line-up.


Sliders 2nd at National Championships (8/12/2007)
The Sliders took 2nd place at the ASA women's major national championhips in 2007. The Sliders have attended the women's major tournament just twice, the last two seasons and have placed 2nd both times.

During this time the Sliders have played well, accumulating an overall record of 9-2 in the tournament. Pitcher Kia Fennell (Cal State Northridge alumni) threw a no-hitter for the Sliders onAugust 11, 2006 against the host Amherst Lightning Brooks. In the same year, pitcher Lorilyn Wilson (University of MIchigan alumni) won the much coveted Bertha Tickey pitching award. Finally, ten Sliders have placed on the All-American team in in the two years, they are listed below.

Kaitlin Cochran (Arizona State), Amanda Kamekona (UCLA), Daniell Kinley (Penn State), Samantha Marder (Ohio State), Lisa Modglin (CAL Poly SLO), Melissa Sanchez (UC Riverside), Anjelica Seldon (UCLA), Michelle Smith (Stanford) Lorilyn Wilson (Michigan) and Deann Young (Oregon State),.


Four Sliders named ASA All-Americans (8/12/2007)
Four 2007 Sliders were named ASA All-Americans for their performance at the women's major national chmapionship; pitcher Anjelica Seldon (UCLA), her battery mate Samantha Marder (Ohio State), outfielder Danielle Kinley (Penn State) and 1st baseman Melissa Sanchez (UC Riverside alumni).


Back to Back Worth Torunament Champions (7/29/2007)
The Sliders women's fastpitch team won their second consecutive Worth Tournament title defeating the Scorpions in the Championship game 7-6. The winning pitcher was Brittnay Weil (Iowa) while Anjelica Seldon (UCLA) got the save.


Sliders are So Cal ASA Legaue Champions (7/21/2007)
The Sliders women's fastpitch team won the So Cal ASA League title for the 3rd time in four years (2004, 2006 and 2007). The Sliders went 14-1 in league play this season.


Sliders win 5 more! (7/8/2007)
This weekend marked the premiere of UCLA pitcher Anjelica Seldon as a Slider. Seldon went 2-0 in her debut weekend helping the Sliders remain undefeated in league play and in 1st place overall.


4-0 start to the 2007 Season! (6/17/2007)
The Sliders began their 2007 campaign with a four game sweep of So Cal ASA league games over the weekend. University of Iowa pitcher Brittany Weil pitched 18 innings of shutout softball until yielding four runs in the last game of the weekend after being struck on the shin with a line drive. All in all Weil allowed 16 hits, walked five batters and struck out twenty-six.

Leading hitters for the Sliders included Lindsey Ubrun university of Maryla) who hit .727 for the weekend including two doubles, a triple and three homeruns. She also scored five runs while driving in fifteeen. Other hot Slider hitters were Sam Marder (Ohio State) who hit .667, Danielle Kinley (Penn State) hit .455 and Melissa Sanchez (UC Riverside Alumni) who hit .444 with a triple, homerun and eight RBIs.

Slider Kia Fennell throws no-hitter at Nationals! (8/11/2006)
Slider Kia Fennell (CS Northridge alumni) threw a no-hitter against the host team the Amherst Lightning Brooks. Fennell struck out eight and the only blemish on the game was a walk in the third inning. The Sliders went on to win the game 5-0.


Worth Tournament Champions! (7/30/2006)
The Sliders women's fastpitch team won the ASA Worth Tournament July 30-31, 2006 in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The team won four games while losing only one.


The Sliders win three more! (7/23/2006)
The Sliders women's fastpitch team won all three games over the weekend. It was the last weekend of play for the Southern California ASA League and the Sliders finished 10-1 overall which was the best record in the league. The team plays in the Worth Tournament July 29-30th in a final tune-up before heading to Amherst, NY for the ASA Major National Championships August 10-13, 2006.


Women's fastpitch has a perfect weekend! (7/11/2006)
The Sliders women's fastpitch team won four league games over the weekend. Saturday they played the Rebels whom they beat 14-1 and the Monarchs whom they also by a 6-2 margin. Sunday began with a 8-0 shutout win over the Condors and the team finished thier perfect weekend with a 4-2 victory over the Storm. Leading hitters for the Sliders included Alana Bagby-Leonard who went 9-12 with two doubles and two homeruns. Additionally, Celina Rubalcaba (UCLA) was 4-10 scoring four runs and driving in three. Lisa Modglin hit .462 for the weekend with a triple and homerun and Christy Robitaille won two games for the Sliders giving up only six hits and striking out twelve.


Women's fastpitch sweeps doubleheader! (7/2/2006)
The Sliders women's fastpitch team swept a doubleheader last weekend in Lancaster, CA when they beat the Schutt Hurricanes 8-3 and the Waves 10-1. This takes their record to 3-1 on the young season. Leading hitters for the Sliders included outfielder Lisa Modglin (Cal Poly SLO) who went 5-7 with 3 singles, 1 triple and a homerun while scoring three runs and driving in four and Celina Rubalcaba (UCLA) who has 3 doubles, a homerun and 6 runs scored while driving in three on the season.


Two Sliders make the USA World Team! (6/22/2006)
Two Sliders fastpitch players, pitcher Katie Burkhart (Arizona State) and outfielder Cambria Miranda (Oregon State) made the USA World Games Team.
